Why does Eye Clinic of Austin want your drivers license and to take your photo?

We have new software! We will be asking you to participate by reviewing your registration information, providing all your insurance cards and providing your drivers license and finally we will take your picture. We will be scanning all of your insurance cards into your account. Be sure to bring your cards with you to each visit and let us know if you have a new card or new insurance coverage. We will scan your drivers license into your account to for two basic reasons to prove to insurance that we have positively identified you and to have on file for check writing and credit card transactions. We will take your photo to be appended to your account for chart identification purposes. We will eventually be going paper chartless and your photo helps the doctor and staff identify you and to be sure that they are reviewing the correct patient's medical information. We appreciate your cooperation and assistance.
